6. Our content
The stories, characters, illustrations, audio and software in Outloud belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-commercial licence to use them with your family through Outloud. That licence ends if your account ends.
The agreement between your family and us, in plain English.
Last updated 18 October 2026
These terms apply to the Outloud English app and the website at outloudenglish.com (together, “Outloud”). Outloud is provided by BlueberryML Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, of 2nd Floor, College House, 17 King Edwards Road, Ruislip, London HA4 7AE, United Kingdom(“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using Outloud you agree to these terms. Please also read our privacy policy, which explains how we handle your family's data.
Accounts are for parents and guardians aged 18 or over. An account holder can add profiles for children they have parental responsibility for, and those children can then use Outloud under the account holder's supervision. Children must not create accounts themselves.
Outloud is in active build ahead of its launch in December 2026. While it's in early access, features may change, be added or be withdrawn, and there may be interruptions. There is currently no charge for using Outloud. If we introduce paid plans, we'll show you the price and any extra terms before you pay, and you'll only be charged if you choose to subscribe.
Please don't:
The stories, characters, illustrations, audio and software in Outloud belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-commercial licence to use them with your family through Outloud. That licence ends if your account ends.
Your family owns your children's recordings. You give us permission to store and process them only to provide Outloud: scoring answers, giving feedback and choosing what comes next, as our privacy policy explains. We never publish or sell them, and you can ask us to delete them at any time.
Outloud is a learning tool. Its scores and feedback are a guide to a child's progress, not a formal assessment or qualification, and we can't guarantee any particular result. It isn't a substitute for a teacher or for professional advice about a child's speech, language or development.
You can stop using Outloud and delete your account at any time. See how to delete your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts a child at risk; where it's fair to, we will tell you why first.
If we fail to meet these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our failure or our negligence. We aren't responsible for loss that wasn't foreseeable, or for business losses: Outloud is for personal, family use.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you have a dispute with us, you can bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales, or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in the courts there. Please contact us first; most things can be sorted out quickly.
We may update these terms as Outloud develops. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If a change is significant, we'll tell account holders before it takes effect, and you can delete your account if you don't agree.
